When should I install the eSIM?
The day before or the day you fly, somewhere with Wi-Fi. Installing does not start your plan: most plans start when the eSIM first connects to a network in Japan.
Can I use the QR code more than once?
No. A QR code can usually be installed only once. If you delete the eSIM from your phone after installing, you may not be able to install it again. Ask AI support before resetting or changing phones.
Can I keep my normal SIM in my phone?
Yes. Keep your regular SIM for calls and messages and choose the iroiro eSIM for mobile data. Turn data roaming off on your home SIM to avoid roaming charges.
Does this eSIM include a phone number?
No, it is data only. Call with apps like WhatsApp or LINE. In an emergency (police 110, ambulance and fire 119), use a hotel phone, a public phone or another voice line.
I don't have a second screen to show the QR code
No problem. On iPhone (iOS 17.5 or later) you can install with one button on your setup page. On Android or older iPhones, copy and paste the code shown on your setup page.
What if I cannot get connected?
The “Having trouble?” section of your setup page lists the common causes in order. If that does not help, tell iroiro AI your phone model and what you see on screen. It will check the eSIM line, data roaming, APN and network selection with you.
Can I buy now and use it later? Is there a deadline?
Yes, you can buy ahead: the validity period only starts when you first connect in Japan. There is a limit, though. Standard plans (3–20 GB) must connect for the first time within 180 days of purchase, unlimited plans within 365 days. After that, the supplier retires the eSIM and it cannot be restored or refunded. Each plan shows its own deadline at checkout and on the setup page.
